February 23rd!

On February 23rd  Jeff joined the United States Army (National Guard). Jeff has always had a passion for serving his country. He loves to read books about war and soldiers. And it is only fitting that his birthday lands on July 4th. He has told me before that if we hadn't met, he probably would have joined the military sooner, but I was kind of an interference. And I am glad because I know that if I would have met him knowing that he would be joining the military very soon, I probably would have been nervous about a relationship with him. I am, however ready for this now (as ready as a girl can be anyways). We know it will be hard work, but we know that this is what we are supposed to be doing right now. In the National Guard Jeff will serve one weekend a month and two weeks in the summer (not including this summer) which means that he will not be going over seas all the time or living on a military base. This summer (August 7th), Jeff will be leaving for four and a half months for basic combat training and advanced individual training. He will be in Missouri and Oklahoma. I will definitely miss him terribly, but you can bet we will be the best pen pals this world has ever seen. I will continue to go to school while he's gone (beginning my junior year), residing in our new apartment in Rexburg (we will be moving around the end of July). Jeff has chosen to pursue the military job of Field Artillery Advanced Tactical Data Systems Specialist (his major is Computer Information Technology, so this fits in well with his major). Doesn't he look handsome in his uniform?

My man, what a stud :)

Day Date!

Wednesday, Jeff and I decided to go on a date to Bear World. It was fun even though I work there. It was nice to get in for free and to just be able to spend some time with hubby outside of the apartment! We had a lot of fun. Even though we don't have air conditioning in our car and we had to keep our windows up "at all times even when taking pictures", we had fun...we went through the park twice. And we also watched the baby bears play (they are so cute!). And we fed the animals at the petting zoo. Take a look see! :)

Boise Trip with the Dahl Family

2 weekends ago, the whole Dahl family (Don & Susan and their children/grandchildren) hitched up their cars and headed to Boise for John's weekend soccer tournament. When we got to Boise, we checked into our hotel, it was a really nice hotel. Then we went to dinner at Sizzler and it was delicious. I got shrimp. I love shrimp. ha When we got back to the hotel, we played soccer tennis in their tennis court. It was fun even though I have 0 foot-eye coordination. The next morning we woke up really early and went to John's first game. Long story short, we all had a great time and the weather was perfect. John's team won 2, lost one, and tied one game. That put him and his team at second place, but it was close. We were all excited for him! Here are some pictures...Jamie, Ryan, and the boys were there, but I didn't get a picture of them before they left :(

And on the way home Sunday, we stopped at Twin Falls (my first time) and this is what we saw there!

And we also saw this....
It was really pretty! Glad we stopped there on the way home!
